Now in its 16th year of operation, Halicat Tours offers a range of boating adventures from Harbour Cruises to Offshore whalewatching , birdwatching and fishing. The Halicat is a purpose- built, twin-engine sports catamaran with a capacity of up to 63 people in the Harbour & 43 offshore, and is licensed to travel up to 30 Nautical miles to sea, and anywhere along the NSW coastline. Whale Watching -Half Day Tours
Each year the waters off Sydney are frequented by Humpback whales. These gentle giants pass by Sydney during June & July in their northern migration, and travel back down the coast with their newborn calves from September to November. Tours are 4 hours long and our flybridge viewing platform and walk-around decks get you right up close. We are linked in to local conservation groups who chart the coordinates of the whales.
Nature & Bird Watching - Full Day Tours
Sydney’s coastline is home to bountiful marine life including dolphins, sharks, sunfish, albatrosses and other seabirds. Venture out to the waters off the continental shelf to see these magnificent creatures in their natural environment. Full Day tours (8 hours+) run every month. Over 80 different bird species & 11 cetacean species have been logged – this year we even saw Orcas and added a new bird from the Atlantic - Great Shearwater!
Recreational Fishing Tours
From dropping a line in the Harbour to Deep Sea Offshore Reef fishing, Halicat Tours offers versatile fishing adventures for groups & individuals. Full day Deep Sea trips (up to 20Km offshore) fish for Snapper, Morwong, Nannygai, Perch, Kingfish, Leatherjackets and Pigfish to name a few. Blue Water, Sports & Seamount trips (up to 60 Km offshore) fish for Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Blue Eye Cod, Hapuka and Barr Cod. Sports fish are catch & release only. Overnight & extended tours available.

Boxing Day, Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race
Jump on board the Halicat on Boxing Day for a boat’s eye view of the start of the prestigious Sydney to Hobart yacht race. You’ll be in the thick of the action at 1pm when the starter gun fires and up to 100 yachts race out of the Harbour. BYO picnic.
